Bangkok Similarly, new perspectives

6 years ago, Bangkok was my introduction to the developing world. I was midway through a round-the-world voyage in which I spent the first 3 months in Hawaii and Australia - not exactly draft.
At the time, my senses were overloaded:
Sight - people everywhere and chaos
Touch - run sweat
Smell - puants, air pollution
Hearing - horns and tuk-tuks
Taste - dirt and exhaust
Spidey senses - tingling.
I arrived at 6 o'clock in the morning and I got the hell Bangkok as soon as possible and tried to locate the most isolated beach I could find.
Now, things are different. I come from Bangladesh. Bangkok looks like a manicured, peaceful city of order and luxury. On the taxi to my hotel, I felt alone, "Where's all the people?"
In a sense, I know that I will miss the crowds of people in Bangladesh. They were my security. And I was their celebrity. I walked around a bit tonight and did not notice a single person watching me. Tom Cruise any more, I suppose that I will get used to be just another touron.
I catch a flight to Phnom Penh tomorrow evening. I will spend most of my day draws to a close tomorrow, my notes, posts, audio slideshows with Bangladesh. Expect to see a lot of activity here tomorrow.
Also, I have some news for you all the geeks out there. I hope I can share some time this week. Stay tuned…
